about

The spirituality of the warped record hit me hard. For a while I had been conceptualizing a record that would investigate the juxtaposition of the writer, Jorge Louis Borges, and what my father calls, black snow. For most it is black ice, but for me and all of my father's warnings, it has always been Black Snow. I love Borges from his writing. He creates little pockets where my own imagination can hit full stride and sprint for days, or just lay down and take a break or cook some food again for the first time. Why do I want to put him on black snow? I'm not able to pull up the initial origin of that image, but there is something fantastical about him and there is something equally fantastical and absurd about black snow, a thing that is real, yet does not exist for the rest of humanity. I feel safe knowing that Borges and any large cat on the black snow would have it out with style, and all of the gospel and all of the bent time can come and rescue him riding on the backs of the choirs, down from their lofts.

*special note
As I worked on this record I found, what I am certain, to be a hidden message in the warp. I sampled it and used it to create the Bridge. That bridge is haunted, I am sure of it, but for traversing the bridge, one can cleanse it of its demons. Beware the bridge, but do not fear it, walk it.
